Biography
Randy Balbuena is a software engineer with over a decade of experience in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining robust business applications, as well as implementing data warehousing and ETL solutions. His background includes complex relational databases, electronic data processing, software development, and embedded systems prototyping (software, hardware, communication protocols, and fabrication).
He has designed and built innovative systems for AT&T, Capital One, and UMass, and has helped Microsoft, Promise, Denso, Google, and Twitter fix critical flaws in their products.
His current interests include emerging technologies, business-critical and highly reliable systems, cybersecurity, and privacy.
Randy is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, where he studied applied mathematics with a focus on computing and advanced software engineering. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM).
Randy is also a filmmaker and producer of original narrative short films.
He lives in New York.
